Housebound Delivery Service

The Mercury Bay Friends of the Library are happy to arrange delivery and collection of books for people who are housebound. This may be on a short or long term basis, and this is a free service.

How does it work?

Once you have contacted us, we'll arrange for a Friends of the Library volunteer to call in to see you, to register you for this service. You will be asked to describe your reading tastes, to name some favourite authors, for example, or note any books you have been meaning to read. Once we've built up a clear picture of what you like to read, we can start selecting books for you.

Books are delivered and collected during working hours, on weekdays. You can either make a set time - or you can just call when you need more books.
